MIXED MESSAGES: It is not clear how long three handwritten messages have been tacked to the front door of Pitstop Puppy’s, which was raided by Sheriff’s deputies and SPCA personnel late last month. The rescue reportedly open since 2004 is now vacant and the messages read like a roadmap for a business experiencing difficult times. One message from rescue operator Joelle Kott details the need for dog-food donations, even including the price and variety needed. Another appears to be in response to someone who reported conditions at the rescue to the Sheriff’s Department on Jan. 22 after dropping off a puppy at the shelter.
