FRIDAY: Pit bull evaluated by experts (5:37 p.m.)

The pit bull involved in Sunday’s bizarre attack on a 2-year-old boy has been evaluated by dog behavioral experts.

Niagara County SPCA Executive Director Al Chille said the pit bull was taken to the Erie County SPCA on Thursday, where it remained overnight.

There, the dog was evaluated by a behavioral expert in an attempt to determine what caused the dog to sodomize a toddler on Sunday afternoon.

The boy was reportedly alone with the dog, a 2-year-old family pet named Bear, in his Washburn Street apartment for only minutes when the attack occurred. Police have said the boy’s mother sent him in the living room to fetch a clean diaper after she removed a dirty one.
