On behalf of the 34 food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens in Niagara County, Niagara Community Action Program Inc. is urging all county residents to be generous and support the May 12 National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.

Each year at this time, letter carriers pick up canned goods and non-perishable food placed near the mailbox by local community residents. These collected food items are distributed to the food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens that feed needy Niagara County residents.

Please be generous with your food donations. Your support will be greatly appreciated by the families who receive the food.

GUEST VIEW: Bottles, water's new fashion accessory In the not too distant past, I thought that people walking around with a bottle of water were just demonstrating an affectation, which I hoped would not last long. How wrong my thought, and hopes, were. Looks like it is here to stay; it has become de rigueur.
