The Niagara County Clerks Association is offering applications for its annual college scholarship, now increased to $1,000.
Graduating high school seniors from Niagara County can pick up applications for the award at their school’s guidance office, a press release states. The award is intended for those planning to attend college within New York state beginning in the fall 2010 semester.
“The cash award has been increased to $1,000 and may only be used toward the recipient’s bona fide costs of attending college,” the press release states.
In addition to guidance offices at each of the county’s high schools, applications may also be obtained at local assessors’ offices, online at ntassessor.net or by writing to: Scholarship Committee, Niagara County Assessors Office, c/o Janelle L. Kroening, Assessor, Town of Cambria, 4160 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, N.Y., 14132.
Completed applications must be postmarked by April 30, and should be sent to the above address.
The recipient will be announced in May.
