Niagara Falls police investigating fatal shooting on 29th Street

Tonawanda News — NIAGARA FALLS —Few details were released Monday night in what police were calling an apparent murder/suicide on the 500 block of 29th Street.

Police officials confirmed that an unidentified man and woman were both fatally shot shortly before 8 p.m.

“They were in a domestic relationship of some sort,” Detective Lt. Michael Trane said late Monday night.

Details of the fatal double shooting and the identity of the two victims involved were not released. Trane said police were still trying to notify the next of kin.

Trane did say the grim scene was discovered by neighbors.

“They heard something unusual, they saw something unusual,” he said.

The neighbors investigated the situation on their own and discovered the bodies prior to police arriving on the scene.

Other neighbors told Channel 4 News reporters they had heard a lot arguing coming from the home before Monday night’s shooting.
