Ken-East to host Wing Ding

Tonawanda News — Kenmore East is hosting the 6th Annual Mid-Winter Wing Ding Classic Saturday in the tennis court parking lot.

The event runs from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. 

Teams will compete in street hockey games. All teams must be co-ed, with a minimum of two females and two males, and players as well as goalies who must bring their own equipment. 

The competition will be a double-elimination bracket style tournament. Individual player trophies, an MVP trophy and the Wing Ding Cup will be awarded.

There will also be a snow sculpture tournament for teams of five, judged by a panel of Kenmore East staff.

The Wing Ding Crack-A-Jack and the Wing Ding Damsel will also be crowned.

Chicken wings by LaNova, chicken wing soup from Buffalo Roadhouse, potato chowder by Shannon’s Pub, hot dogs and hot chocolate will be offered, all for free. 

A heated tent will be on site to keep all the attendees, players and cheerers warm.
