Celebrate the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day while searching for a “pot of gold” at a special event hosted by the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The museum’s second annual scavenger hunt will take children and parents throughout the entire museum following clues and collecting tokens from costumed characters.
“Each participant who finds the pot of gold will receive their own pot of gold full of sweet treats,” said the museum’s office manager Shirley Burgess.
Green-themed deserts, hot beverages, face painters, a balloon artist and a large rock simulating the Blarney Stone will be on hand to add to the day’s activities.
“We at the museum try to organize something to be going on throughout the year even though we are closed for the winter season. Opening for birthday parties and special events, such as the St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt, helps keep the museum in people’s mind during the cold months,” said Rae Proefrock, the museum’s director.
The cost is $5 per person.
The museum begins its 2010 season on April 1.
