Wegmans to help tweeters with their turkeys

For the second year in a row, Wegmans is assisting Thanksgiving hosts by responding to their cooking emergencies via twitter for three days leading up to the holiday.

Every year, hundreds of people write in and call Wegmans for assistance, and last year, the company began taking #Turkey911 tweets, too.

“There are always questions, whether someone is cooking the feast for the very first time or has been doing it for years,” Executive Chef Mark Makovec. “We know our customers are especially busy during the holidays, and this is a way to provide some on-the-go guidance in a way that some find most convenient.”

Makovec will be standing by on Twitter to take questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

Questions on everything from appetizers to dessert may be submitted by tweeting to @Wegmans and using the #turkey911 hashtag. The questions and answers will be featured on Wegmans.com for those that would like to follow along.

How to videos are also available at Wegman’s YouTube channel.
