NIAGARA FALLS —
The Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. is set to welcome the Duggar family, stars of the TLC television network reality show “19 Kids and Counting,” today for an action-packed day experiencing the beauty, history and excitement offered in Niagara Falls.
A TLC production crew of seven will film the popular television family and their 19 children, ranging from 2 years old to 21 years old, as they partake in some of the region’s trademark attractions. The Duggar family will also be joined by the Bontrager family and their 10 children.
“We are very excited to host the Duggar family and TLC here in the Niagara USA Region, as this is an opportunity for us to showcase our offerings not only to this unique family, but to the millions of viewers who tune in each week to view the popular reality television program,” said John Percy, president and CEO of the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. “We are thrilled that the TLC network reached out to us here at the NTCC in hopes of bringing the Duggar family to Niagara USA. I believe an intriguing itinerary has been created to please all of the family members.”
At 10 a.m. today, the family will be welcomed at Niagara Falls State Park by Niagara Falls Mayor Paul A. Dyster, before boarding the Maid of the Mist and taking a tour of the Cave of the Winds.
At 12:30 p.m., a tour bus will shuttle the family to Lewiston for lunch at Water Street Landing, which will be followed by a trip on the Whirlpool Jet Boat, or a hands-on fishing demonstration for the younger members of the family.
At 3:15 p.m., the families will head to Old Fort Niagara for a one-hour tour of the historic venue, before completing their time in the Niagara region at 4:30 p.m., with a tour of the Niagara Power Project, where they will receive an education on the role hydro-electric power has played in the Niagara region.
