Looking for business that want a little help

— — Planners of a job fair to be held as part of Niagara Homecoming are seeking area employers to help make this year’s fair even more successful than the past two.

The event is part of a four-day homecoming planned by Niagara Rises to re-acquaint former city residents, as well as current residents and visitors, with the opportunities available in the Niagara region.

The event is called the Career Fair Resource Expo and the Awards Luncheon and will take place, starting at noon Friday at The Conference Center Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls St.

The awards luncheon, from noon to 1:30 p.m., will feature guest speakers Danny Hanssel, a social media expert, and Joan Graci, a hiring and retention specialist.

The keynote speaker will be Andrea Todaro, an employment consultant and the driving force behind the expo.

New this year will be a speed interviewing component streamlines the employment process by uniting pre-qualified candidates with companies looking to hire for specific jobs.

The speed interviewing unites pre-qualified candidates with companies looking to hire. Job seekers can go online to aspiretechnet.com to submit their resumes to companies they are interested in working for.

Career Fair Resource Expo admission is free to job seekers.

Employers are invited to support this event by becoming a sponsor. Sponsors will receive a range of benefits including placement of a corporate banner, acknowledgment from the podium, extra complimentary event tickets, sponsorship listing on all printed public relations materials and web site, and a contact listing of all attendees. Employers interested in becoming sponsors should contact Beth Lavis at ealavis@gmail.com. The annual Niagara Rises homecoming event will also include the third-annual Niagara Rises “Homecoming” Benefit Gala & Awards Dinner which will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the conference center. An assortment of other activities are planned Thursday-Sunday to inspire former Niagara area residents to return to live and work in their home town.
