City police looking for victims of parking lot larceny

Tonawanda News — Adam J. Nelson was arrested Saturday for looking through parked cars and stealing numerous items from them, city police said.

The 28-year-old, of Somerville Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda, was arrested for petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

“He was going through cars in the parking lot of Gander Mountain and Texas Roadhouse,” Lt. Fredric Foels said “He was pulling on door handles, and if they were open, he would go through it and put items back into his vehicle.”

Most of the stolen items were returned to their owners, but police still have many of the belongings.

“If anyone was in that parking lot Saturday and have missing items from their vehicle, they are asked to call detectives,” Foels said. “We are not sure how long he worked the parking lot before the arrest.”

Individuals looking for their belongings can call police at 692-2121, ext. 307, or ext. 308.
