First Day

— — THE JOURNEY BEGINS: Edan Rutherford, 5, heads off to his first day of kindergarten as dad Daniel and brother Trey, 3, watch him board the school bus in the city of Tonawanda. Tuesday started out warm and sunny for the first day of the new school year, but a cold front that rushed through the area around 8 p.m. brought thunderstorms, heavy rain and marble-sized hail and also ushered in cooler temperatures.
