NT, Lumber Corp. to receive brownfield grant

Tonawanda News — National Grid’s senior executives will present a substantial brownfield grant to North Tonawanda Mayor Rob Ortt and the Lumber City Development Corporation Monday at noon.

The grant will support the continued work on the development of Buffalo Bolt Business Park, officials said.

The presentation will take place at the cu-de-sac at the end of Buffalo Bolt Way between 9th and 11th Avenues in North Tonawanda.

In the event of rain, it will be moved to the Keller Building’s training room located on Wheatfield Street.

The 23-acre business park is a brownfield site and is the former home of Robin Steel and Buffalo Bolt Corporation, but the site has been an eyesore in the area for 40 years.

Dennis Elsenbeck, regional executive for National Grid, NYS Senator George D. Maziarz and NYS Assemblyman Robin Schimminger will be in attendance.
