Two fugitives nabbed at Niagara area bridges

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers picked up a pair of fugitives at the international bridges in Niagara Falls and Lewiston.

Both were arrested Thursday as they attempted to enter the U.S. at the Rainbow and Lewiston-Queenston bridges.

CPB agents stopped Terrel Goodley, 29, a United States citizen from Port St. Lucie, Fla., at the Rainbow Bridge. Record checks showed Goodley was wanted on an active warrant out of Stuart, Fla.

The warrant charges Goodley with three counts of uttering forged bills and four counts of grand theft. Goodley was turned over to Falls police pending his extradition to Florida.

Officers arrested Dale Thorne, 33, a citizen of Guyana who is a permanent resident of the United States living in Richmond Hill, at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. A records check on Thorne showed an active warrant for him in the state of Virginia for charges of failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Thorne was turned over to the custody of New York State Police pending extradition to Virginia.

Both men were returning to the U.S. after being refused entry into Canada as a result of their criminal records and outstanding warrants.
