Staff Reports
A minor accident Friday on Oliver Street in North Tonawanda sent one man to the hospital with possible neck injuries.
Another motorist who it appears struck the man’s blue Windstar from behind just south of the intersection of Oliver and Felton streets was visibly unhurt. The crash was reported at about 3:30 p.m.
North Tonawanda Fire Department Captain David Schmidt got to work just minutes after the wreck was cleared but confirmed the driver of the mini van was transported from the scene in an ambulance.
“A male age 50 was taken to Kenmore Mercy hospital,” he said.
The second vehicle, a black Ford sport utility vehicle, sustained damage to its front left bumper. The driver could be overheard explaining he thought the driver must have been attempting to take a left into the Corner Store and was stopped in the lane.
Neither driver had been ticketed as of press time Friday.
