EXTRA! EXTRA! News to publish special street corner edition following NT's state final game
The Tonawanda News will publish a special Monday morning edition following the North Tonawanda football team's first-ever trip to the state championship game.
The edition, which will be sold at various street corners Monday morning, will contain a recap of the team's entire season, including — hopefully — extensive coverage of the school's first state championship.
While the section itself will not be subject to home delivery, content from the paper will be included for subscribers in Tuesday's edition, as well, Managing Editor Eric DuVall said.
"We're the local paper of record and and we've followed this Lumberjacks team since training camp," DuVall said. "It's been a special season and we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate it than a special edition."
The News will be sending a team of reporters and photographer Doug Benz to capture the entire trip to Syracuse, where the undefeated Lumberjacks will take on New Rochelle in the Class AA finals in the Carrier Dome.
In addition to the special edition, the News will also be printing a free game day poster that will be inserted into Saturday's paper, rooting on the Lumberjacks. Copies of this poster will be made available to those at the game, as well.
News Sports Editor David J. Hill will be tracking every one of the game's score changes online at tonawanda-news.com and through the paper's Facebook page, so those who can't get to Syracuse will be able to keep up with the Jacks online in real-time.
