A Wheatfield man has been charged in a stabbing that left a Falls man in critical, but stable condition late Wednesday night.
Falls police detectives said Anthony Parmer, 27, 2719 Oppenheim Court, Apt. 3, was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Parmer, the subject of a brief countywide manhunt, turned himself in to Falls police a couple of hours after the incident.
Officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 1700 block of LaSalle Avenue at 7:48 p.m. and found a 26-year-old man with a severe stab wound to the neck.
“He bled quite a lot and was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized,” Detective Lt. William Thomson said.
He was later taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he was expected to undergo surgery.
“His injuries are life threatening, but he’s expected to survive,” Thomson said.
Thomson said the violent incident was apparently prompted by a call Parmer received from his 6-year-old daughter.
The young girl told Parmer the victim, who is dating Parmer’s ex-girlfriend, had hit her and he needed to come get her.
“(Parmer) went to get her and that’s when the stabbing happened,” Thomson said.
The child, who then left the crime scene with her father, was not harmed and was picked up later in Wheatfield by Falls police detectives.
