• Ann Raderman and her father, Jim Scanlon, both cancer survivors, participated in Ken-Ton’s first Relay for Life.

• The Health Association of Niagara County (HANC) celebrated its 75th anniversary with a free outdoor public concert featuring Sugar ‘n Jazz.

1962 — 50 years ago

• Taylor Devices moved its Main Street operation into a new one-story plant on Tonawanda Island. The new facility occupies 8 acres and has 11,000 square feet of space.

• Bell Aerosystems employed 175 people at a plant on Bryant Street in North Tonawanda. The facility housed engineering offices and the radar and internal guidance development laboratory.
