NIGHT & DAY: “Healing Art of Light and Sound” featured in Market Place exhibit

In his first independent exhibition, Justin Michael Blue will display a series of writing, photography, drawings and paintings in a show entitled “Origin: Transcending the Personal,” at the Market Street Art Center in Lockport through the Feb. 28.

Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Justin considers his roots in the area to be one of the main inspirations on his creative journey.

Beginning at an early age, his passions were fueled by the various crime fighting characters of his time; a theme that has remained consistent throughout his life. Ready to stand up to adversity, Batman, a ghostbuster or possibly even a ninja turtle would arrive on the scene. Everywhere that he went he was prepared to serve and protect.

These days, his life continues to revolve around the idea that there’s much more to our existence than we can perceive. Mainly nature based, his photography is inspired by the planet, as well as the ancient traditions of the mandala. Fascinated by the patterns and style of our magnificence, Justin has found himself a student of sacred geometry, the art of life and universal perfection.

“I resonate with all religious and spiritual traditions,” he said. “Though through my creativity I’m committed to pointing the way to where it is we can have a direct experience of our truest potentials.”

Art — as he notes on his Web site, demoxium.com — has become much like a spiritual practice, and he notes that everything about the creative process is sacred and holy.

“I resonate with all religious and spiritual traditions,” he said. “Though through my creativity I’m committed to pointing the way to where it is we can have a direct experience of our truest potentials.”
