NORTH AUGUSTA, GA —
April Dawn Cruz, 33, wife of Sgt. Hector Cruz, entered into rest on Friday, August 10, 2012 at her residence, after a courageous battle with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Mrs. Cruz was born in Brunswick, GA, and had lived in the Augusta area for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Blayne Lynch of North Augusta; parents, John and Donna Sloop of Hephzibah, GA; brother, John Sloop, Jr. of Hephzibah, GA; step-children, Michael and Gabriela Cruz; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Alicia Pettit of North Tonawanda. She was predeceased by her son, Hayden.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday. She was buried alongside her son, Hayden, in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Mary's, GA.
