Sylvia B. Murphy

TOWN OF TONAWANDA — Sylvia B. Murphy, age 78, of the Town of Tonawanda, died on Friday, October 5, 2012.   

Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Henry and Ella Muriel (Cooper) Bears, she was the wife of Charles E. Murphy, who died in April of this year; and sister of the late Georgean Martin and Dettler Webb. Sylvia was a member of the Chapel at Crosspoint in Getzville for many years. She was also a member of the Kenmore Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Bethlehem Chapter O.E.S.

She is survived by four children, Charles E. Murphy, Jr., Douglas Murphy, Cynthia (late Robert) Murphy-Stana and Robert (Kathy) Murphy; five grandchildren, Kaitlin, Michael, Colleen, Douglas and Tristan; three great-grandchildren; and a brother Ernest Bears.

Family will be present on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St., (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 11, at 10 AM. Friends invited. Pastor David Kennedy will         officiate. Entombment will be in Memory Haven Mausoleum in Elmlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Chapel at CrossPoint, 500 CrossPoint Pkwy., Getzville, NY 14068.
