Jean Rehkopf

NORTH TONAWANDA —  

Jean Rehkopf, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at her residence. She was born in Columbus, OH, on December 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Clarence "Bud" and Pauline (Nelson) Sheets.
Mrs. Rehkopf attended Ohio State University. She moved to the Sanborn area in 1957 and later to North Tonawanda.  She was an active member St. Peter's Lutheran Walmore, Abiding Savior and St. Peter's Lutheran in North Tonawanda. Mrs. Rehkopf taught Sunday school and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She was the wife of the late Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf, Sr., who died in 1989. Mrs., Rehkopf is survived by two sons, Donald G. (Barbara Davies) Rehkopf, Jr. of Rochester, NY and David C. (LouAnne) Rehkopf of Dublin, OH; two daughters, Donna (Douglas) Rehkopf-Bopp of Palatka, FL and Diane E. McConahay of Clayton, NC; six grandchildren, Cori, Caitlin, Christopher, Vicki, David and Hanah; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Matthew; one sister, Joanne (George) Zinn of Columbus, OH. She was the sister of the late Phyllis Benadum.
The family will be present on Thursday from  2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Assoc., the American Kidney Assoc. or to the Disabled American Veterans. Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton, NY.
