Florence E. Hallgren

AMHERST —

Florence E. (Appleton) Hallgren, 85, of Amherst, NY, entered into rest on February 3, 2013. Mrs. Hallgren was born in Detroit, MI on June 10, 1927 to Henry and Beulah (Oyster) Appleton. Florence was retired from Amherst Christian Academy, where she was a secretary. She was an active member in St. Martin Lutheran Church where she had many roles in the church circle, as well as women's associations. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and doing her ministries.
Florence is survived by her husband, Frederick C. Hallgren; mother of Linda (Craig) Gebhardt, James, Kenneth (Julie) and Carl (Janell) Hallgren; grandmother of Scott, Britt (Tara), Michael (Charlotte), Eric (Samantha), Christopher, Kelly, Grace, Christian, Matthew and Nicholas; great-grandmother of Liam, Penny and Ila. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday at 11 AM from St. Martin Lutheran Church, 322 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY, with Rev. R. Devie Ellis officiating. Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Martin.
