Joyce H. Hayes-Hannan

TOWN OF NIAGARA —  

Joyce H. (nee Smith) Hayes-Hannan, age 78, of the Town of Niagara, died on Monday, November 26, 2012, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born in Batavia, NY, she was the wife of the late Ross A. Hayes; and mother of the late James P. O'Keefe, John K. O'Keefe and Deborah Woods. Joyce was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ in the City of Tonawanda. She enjoyed boating, cooking, working inside and outside of her home, and caring for her family. She had been employed as a legal secretary for the Bar Association in Buffalo, NY, for over 20 years, retiring in 1994.
She is survived by her husband of three years, Charles Hannan; two children, Harold "Hal" R. Hayes of North Tonawanda, and Holly J. Piazza of the Town of Niagara; nine grandchildren, Tommy and Cathy O'Connor, Dylan, Adam, and Kal Hayes, Michael Laratonda, and Victoria, Anthony, and Carla Piazza; a son-in-law, Gary Woods of Ransomville, NY; and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, November 30th at 2 PM at Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan St., City of Tonawanda. Rev. Jeremy Lopez will officiate. Private burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst, NY. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 331 Alberta Dr., Ste. 106 Buffalo, NY 14226. Arrangements by JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC.
