Mary L. Schmitt

NIAGARA FALLS —  

Mary L. (nee Foels) Schmitt, age 80, of the Town of Tonawanda and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Beechwood Continuing Care in Getzville. Born in the City of Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Arline (nee Golde) Foels. Mary was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean War and had been employed as Secretary and Treasurer for Foels Brothers, Inc. in Tonawanda for many years. She was a member of First Church of Nativity in the Town of Tonawanda and a former member of Brounshidle Post 205 American Legion.
She is survived by her brother, James (Elizabeth) Foels of North Tonawanda; two nephews, John (Patricia) Foels of North Tonawanda and Thomas (Patricia) Foels of East Amherst; a great-niece, three great-nephews, a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 15th from 11 AM until 1:00 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda, where a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday following the visitation. Father Glenn Fuller will officiate. A private interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
