Kathryn "Katie" Schwinger

CITY OF TONAWANDA —  

Kathryn "Katie" (nee Long) Schwinger, age 64, of the City of Tonawanda, Sunday, February 17, 2013, following a long illness. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Long; and was the sister-in-law of the late Walter Schwinger, Jr. Katie worked several years for the Tonawanda City Schools and also ran the YWCA Extended Day Care Program at Fletcher School. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother and teacher.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Allan Schwinger; her son, Michael (Michelle) Schwinger; her brothers, Charles Long and John (Christine) Long; and her sister-in-law, Margaret (the late Walter, Jr.) Schwinger. Also survived by her niece and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. A private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Arrangements by John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., Tonawanda, NY.
