Ferdinando "Nando" Taddei

NORTH TONAWANDA —  

Ferdinando "Nando" Taddei, age 83, of North Tonawanda on November 14, 2012 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. A native of Italy, Nando served in the Italian Army. He was raised by his mother and brother in the village of Poggio Picenze, Abruzzi, and was the Captain of his soccer team. With his brother, Beninno, they cultivated a successful vineyard. He immigrated to the United States in 1954. He worked as a cement finisher throughout Western New York and also worked at Durez Plastics, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed gardening and making wine at home. As an accomplished stone mason and carpenter, he enjoyed working on his family's home projects. After retirement, he traveled extensively through the United States and Europe.
Brother of the late Beninno Taddei. Beloved husband of 57 years to Gina C. (nee Marinacci) Taddei of North Tonawanda. Loving father of Sandra (Samuel) D'Agostino, Anthony (Raechel) Taddei and Jennifer (Daniel) Serwinowski. Proud grandfather of Joseph and Maria Zupa and David and Matthew Taddei. Dear uncle of Antonietta and Pieranna Taddei, Antoinette (Robert) Copello and Joanne (Donald) Pierce.
Friends received on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 2-4 PM and 6-7 PM at the Brunner Funeral Home (692-3841), 156 Robinson St., North Tonawanda, where a Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 PM. Entombment at Acacia Park Cemetery will be private. Memorials may be made to your local Humane Society.
