John Harvey May

NORTH TONAWANDA — John Harvey May, age 92, of North Tonawanda, July 4, 2012 in the VA Medical Center. John was born on July 22, 1919 in Scottdale, PA. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII. He was injured in the battle of St. Lo, France, and received the Purple Heart. John loved working on cars and helped his friends and neighbors.

Beloved husband of Garnet Ruth (nee Hough) May for over 70 years. Dear father of Dennis (Sandra) May of North Tonawanda, Karen (Lewis) Mosher of Sodus Point, NY, Barry (Mary) Gervis of Lockport, Carol (Larry) Miller of Gasport and Janet (Donald) Seaver of Corfu, NY; grandfather of fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda, on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held from the Funeral Home on Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buffalo City Mission, 100 E. Tupper Street, Buffalo, NY 14203.
