Robert L. Yonkers

NORTH TONAWANDA —  

Robert L. Yonkers, age 64, of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, on Monday, January 14, 2013 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lockport, he was the son of the late Herman and Mary (nee Wellington) Yonkers and had been a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, he was an insurance broker with Scott, Danahy & Naylon in Amherst.
He was the beloved husband of Veronnie (nee Stephen) Yonkers; cherished father of Kimberly (Edward) Crouch and Bethanie (Matthew) Davis; caring step-father of Jennifer (Peter) Vanderheid, Joseph (Sheri) Hugan and Elizabeth (Barrie) Grice; loving papa and grandpa of 10 grandchildren. Also surviving are several brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday. Friends invited. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Park.
