James (Jim) F. Landen

KISSIMMEE, FL — James (Jim) F. Landen, 72, passed away January 31, 2013, surrounded by family at home in Kissimmee, FL. Born in Bradford, PA, October 7, 1940, Jim grew up in North Tonawanda, NY, and was an active member of the Rescue Fire Department and the Knights of Columbus. He retired from Durez and moved to Orlando, FL in 1979, where he worked for the Walt Disney Company, retiring in 2008. He was a devout Catholic, a generous, hard-working man and a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Betty Ann (nee Hill) and his six children, Suzanne Molden (Ron) of Florida; Debra White (Richard) of South Carolina; Kathleen of Virginia; James (Lisa), Robert and Thomas of Florida. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Richard, Katrina, Lee Ann, Austin, Caroline, Jonathan and Emilie. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carolyn Landen; his sister, Delia Cramer; brother, David; and a daughter, Laura Patricia. He will also be missed by a niece and two nephews and many friends, especially the Andersons of Pennsylvania, the Hansens and Kuehns of New York.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Jim to your local Catholic Charities or Florida Hospital HospiceCare, 901 N. Lake Destiny Rd., Suite 400, Maitland, FL 32751. Jim has graciously donated his body to medical science to help find cures for debilitating diseases and conditions that will improve the lives of future generations. This summer, Jim's ashes will be interred with his parents and sister at McAffee Cemetery in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada.

A memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration, FL by his friend, Father Joe Ingrao, from Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. Date and time to be determined for later this month. To family and friends who would like to send a card, please include a short story of a memory to be read at the celebration.
