GRAPEVINE, TX —
Sylvia Eleanor (nee Kiedrowski) Atto, of Grapevine, TX, formerly of North Tonawanda, entered into eternal life Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Born in North Tonawanda, December 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Paul T. and Eleanor Kiedrowski. Sylvia returned to the classroom in her late 30s after her children were in school, earning a BSN in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 20 years in Fayetteville, AR, and the Tyler area. Devoted to her Catholic faith, she taught CCD to young teens in Arkansas, East Texas and until last year, at St. John the Apostle in North Richland Hills.
Beloved wife of 56 years to U.S. Retired Maj. Billy J. Atto of Grapevine, TX. Dearest mother of Deborah (Wayne) Martin, Mary Ann (Dr. Faffell) Hass, Rev. Dennis Atto, Michael, Kevin (Ruth) and William (Maureen). Proud and loving grandmother of Patrick and Jacob Martin, James Hass, Katherine, William, Joseph, Elizabeth and Regina Atto. Dear sister of Robert, David and the late Paul Kiedrowski. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. All of us loved her deeply and she is greatly missed.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 16 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine, TX. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday at 11:45 AM, by Father Dennis Atto at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine. Private interment Monday in Dallas, Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made in Sylvia's honor to National Right to Life. Local arrangements by SABER FUNERAL HOME.
