Ruth M. Hawkins

NORTH TONAWANDA — Ruth M. Hawkins (nee Semper), age 91, of North Tonawanda, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 6, 2012, following a lengthy illness.  Ruth had worked as a secretary with Columbus McKinnon. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. She was a member of the North Tonawanda Senior Citizens and the AARP. Ruth loved traveling. She was an avid bowler and horseshoe player, and she was also the last surviving member of her high school sorority card club.

She was the wife of the late Albert R. Hawkins. Beloved mother of Douglas P. (Belinda) Hawkins of Ocala, FL, and Janice D. (James) McCloskey of Tonawanda. Grandmother of Gregory J. (Jessica) McCloskey of Amherst, and Steven A. Hawkins of Ocala, FL. She was the sister of the late Virginia Stone and Franklin Semper; aunt of several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 AM, the Rev. Mark Breese will officiate. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ.
