Gwen B. Thiel Eichler

NIAGARA FALLS —  

Gwen B. Thiel Eichler passed away on January 15, 2013 after a lengthy illness, during which she was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Gwen Eichler, with the help of Kristen, Sue, Stephanie, and the wonderful nurses, social workers, and aides from the Niagara County Health Department.
Daughter of the late Charles and Fern Johnston Thiel. She was predeceased by her much loved daughter-in-law, Linda McDonnel; and her siblings, Lloyd Thiel, Dorothy Hankinson, Norman Thiel, Rena Frech, Eleanor Brown , Donna Thiel, Maynard Thiel, Ilene Luther and Clayton Thiel. She is survived by her children, Stephanie Lynn (Barry Capell), Steven (Sandy) Eichler, Sue Eichler (Joe Choboy) and Gwen Eichler; grandchildren, Kristen Choboy and Emily Capell Fairchild (J.R.); great-grandchildren, Joe Kostyrka, Sophia and Fiona Fairchild; sibling, Dale Thiel (Judy); former husband, Ernest Eichler; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Gwen donated her body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program. Memorial to be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to your favorite charity in Gwen's name.
