Donald Keith Rose

GAINESVILLE, GA — Donald Keith Rose, age 93, of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Tonawanda, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2012, at Morningside Assisted Living. Born on November 21, 1919 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth T. and Thelma Estelle Beacher Rose.

Mr. Rose served in WWII, in the Navy/Coast Guard serving on the USS Savage. He was a retired police officer in the Town of Tonawanda. Mr. Rose was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Florence Marion Rose; son, Douglas D. Rose; brother, Kaye Rose and sister, Jeanette (Elizabeth) Rose.

Mr. Rose is survived by his caregiver and special family friends, Lori, Greg and Dylan Armour of Gillsville, GA; special family friends, Bob and Jeanette Page of San Dimas, CA; nephew and niece, Billy and Carol Shields of Braselton, GA; special family friends, Bob and Dot Vaughn of Young Harris, GA; and extended family and friends in Buffalo, NY and Florida. A special thank you is extended for the care and love given to Mr. Rose while at Morningside and to the staff of Homestead Hospice of Athens, GA.
