SOUND OFF: Published Sept. 25

The 2010 Camaro is a foreign vehicle? My wife bought a Ford Mustang ... an American car. But the book stated the transmission was made in Mexico, and the motor made in Germany. 70 percent of the car was made in the U.S. and Canada. What part was made in the United States? The horse that they put on the grill, maybe?

Curious where the street cleaner has been in the City of Tonawanda. Haven’t seen them in about a month. The streets are disgusting, with stuff falling off the trees. The last time I saw the cleaner, he was riding in the middle of the street, and not even cleaning the street. I hope he’s not getting paid, because he hasn’t been around Morgan, Fletcher, Broad. Where is this guy?

I agree with the person who called in and wondered why people who work for the city don’t keep up their properties. I work next to a city worker and I’ve been waiting for three months for him to do one minor thing that is hurting my property. He doesn’t keep up his property at all. But he works for the city and gets away with everything. I had a city inspector at my house telling me to fix things. The city workers can go years without having to fix anything.

I don’t like to see anybody hurt. I saw a bad accident at Niagara and Seymour streets the other night, with a motorcycle and a car. The fire and police departments did a fantastic job with safeguarding the accident. One thing I saw that I had never seen was two auxiliary police officers directing traffic, but they had no fluorescent vests, no flashlights and were wearing dark clothing. I’m not saying they did a bad job, but no one could see them. Please, take a little more caution. We need our auxiliary police.
