To the people who do not agree that teachers do not deserve the wages they receive, you ought to be ashamed! I ask you, do you know how to read? If the answer is yes, then you owe a debt of gratitude to a teacher for that. Teachers work very hard and carry a massive weight on their shoulders. Please show respect for those of us who work to shape the minds of today’s youth into tomorrow’s future.

This is in regards to leaf pick-up in North Tonawanda. We are not supposed to put leaves in the street, but if we put them on the lawn by the curb the city workers will drive their equipment on our lawns and rip them up.

The leaves in the street at the curb are no different than cars parked on the street so I don't see a problem with it. Don't we have more important things to worry about?

I'm sure glad that Obama wasn't our president during World War II! We would've lost that in one day! Obama has had a request from his top commander in Afghanistan for two and a half months asking for more troops to do his, and our, job over there adequately and quickly. But still no answer! I think our "Commander-in-Chief" is letting his troops, and the American people down. Delayed decisions like that can only make matters worse. We veterans are outraged!

I used to be a Democrat but now I’m a Conservative because I’m sick of the Democrats giving those on welfare free cell phones, increased benefits and more. I’ve seen the light.

A message for Ralph Wilson: Bring Losman back, and spend some money to get a new coach.

Where else but in North Tonawanda can you publicly defy the taxpayers and still get re-elected. Incredible.

I think the North Tonawanda school district should look into requiring school uniforms. I think if the school board members walked around the high school and saw how some of these students dress they’d be appalled, to say the least. No school dress code is being enforced. They should consider the pros and cons of bringing back school uniforms.

LEFFLER: Don’t wait to be productive
I’ve always been a bit of a night person. It started in college when I would stay up all hours of the night — doing homework. Or something.
