n Firearms hunter safety training class at Little Ridge Archery, 8862 Ridge Road, Gasport from 6 to 10 p.m. Parts 2 and 3 will be held Oct. 21 and 23, also 6 to 10 p.m. Class size is limited to the first 35 students. n Lake Ontario plains turkey season opens (including Niagara and Orleans counties). This is open through Nov. 6.
