Lockport man drives into home

A Lockport man who had been drinking is accused of driving erratically in a City of Tonawanda neighborhood before crashing into a home on Linwood Avenue. 

Stephen G. Boulden, 21, of Creekview Drive, told police he was taking a friend home when the accident occurred. 

Officers traced Boulden’s route to the scene, and discovered he had taken his vehicle across several lawns, broke through a vinyl fence on Maldiner Avenue, struck a pole on the corner of Frances Drive then slammed into a home at 87 Linwood Ave. 

Boulden was charged at 3:37 a.m. Sunday with DWI, possession of marijuana, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving across a sidewalk and criminal possession of a weapon. His blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent and he was held for court. 

Both Boulden and his passenger were not injured.

DWI check

nets 3 arrests

North Tonawanda police charged three motorists with DWI during a Friday Friday night sobriety checkpoint on River Road. 

Police said 548 vehicles drove the checkpoint, which also resulted in unlawful possession of marijuana, 12 invalid inspections and other vehicle and traffic violations. The enforcement was funding through a STOP DWI grant. 

The department did not immediately identify those arrested for DWI.

City of Tonawanda 

WARRANT: John J. Prell, 28, Carmel Road, Buffalo, surrendered on a warrant at 9:30 a.m. Monday and was charged with larceny. He was held for court. 

LARCENY: Susan M. Kohler, 44, of William Street, was arrested at 8:17 p.m. Sunday for shoplifting after allegedly stealing an energy drink from a local store. She was held for court. 

POSSESSION: Candy A. White, 32, of Lisbon Avenue, Buffalo, was stopped by police for a traffic violation and found with three .75-ounce bags of marijuana in her purse. She was charged at 10:29 a.m. Sunday with possession of marijuana, suspended registration and speeding. She is being held in lieu of $250 bail. 

North Tonawanda 

LARCENY: Michael S. Empson, 25, 1591 Lockport Road, Youngstown, was charged at 9:11 p.m. on Saturday with petit larceny. He was held for court. 

Orchard Park

DWI: Bartolo Panepinto, 37, of Kenmore, was stopped on Southwestern Boulevard by New York State Police at a DWI checkpoint following Sunday’s Buffalo Bills game in Orchard Park. He was charged with improper lane usage and DWI. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent and was released on an appearance ticket. 

Elma

DWI: Steven A. Beeley, 38, of Tonawanda, was charged Sunday by state police on Transit Road in Elma for failing to use his signal and DWI. His blood alcohol content was 0.16 percent and released on an appearance ticket.
