North Tonawanda
DRUGS: Philip P. Cantanese, 26, 27 16th Ave., was charged at 3:30 p.m. Friday with two counts of third-, fifth-, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Cantanese was arrested at his home following an investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, according to the report. He is being held without bail.
WARRANT: Timothy C. Dewald, 26, 3105 Steig Road, was charged on a warrant for failing to appear to answer a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He is being held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
BURGLARY: A Weaver Parkway man reported to police that sometime last week his home was burglarized. Several items worth an estimated $1,650 were taken. No suspects were listed in the report.
DWI: Jennifer M. Kroening, 24, 6207 Walmore Road, Sanborn, was charged at 3 a.m. Saturday with DWI and speeding after police pulled her over at Ward and Ruie roads. Her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.15 percent following a breath test. Kroening was released on her own recognizance.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Tyler J. Morford, 19, 115 Goundry St., Apt. B, was charged at 3 a.m. Saturday with disorderly conduct following an incident at Webster and Goundry streets. He is being held in lieu of $100 bail.
WARRANT: Tammy A Campagna, 39, 239 Westfall Drive, was charged on a warrant for failure to appear to answer a petit larceny charge. She is being held in lieu of $250 bail.
WARRANT: James R. Plau, 22, 963 Walck Road, was charged on a warrant for failure to appear to answer a charge of making a false written statement. He is being held in lieu of $250 bail.
EXPOSURE: James P. Werth, 66, 828 Pioneer Drive, was charged at 6 p.m. Friday with exposure of a person following an incident on his street. He was released on his own recognizance.
City of Tonawanda
PETIT LARCENY: Steven J. Pittinger, 29, 204 Utica St., was charged at 2 a.m. Saturday with petit larceny after a clerk told police he took $3 worth of candy without paying. He was released on an appearance ticket.
DWI: Matthew W. Gaffney, 26, 159 Dexter Terrace, Town of Tonawanda, was charged at 1 a.m. Saturday with aggravated DWI and failure to yield the right of way. Police reports said Gaffney turned in front of a patrol car when entering the McDonalds parking lot on Young Street. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.23 percent on a breath test. He was held for court.
DWI: Richard E. Staniszewski, 65, 192 Patricia Drive, Town of Tonawanda, was charged at 7:30 p.m. Friday with DWI after police saw him swerving on Ellicott Creek Road. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.10 percent. He was released on an appearance ticket.
WARRANT: Kayla R. Porter, 19, 1808 Coomer Road, Newfane, was arrested Friday on a Feb. 15 warrant for second-degree aggravated harassment and first-degree criminal contempt. She was held for court.
Wheatfield
DRUGS: Kevin A. Schlitz, 17, 3473 Stevenson Court, North Tonawanda, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana Friday. The patrol conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling east on Captains Way erratically. According to the report, the vehicle nearly hit three children playing near the roadway where there is a posted speed limit 15 mph. The patrol detected an odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a clear plastic baggie containing marijuana under the driver’s seat and a clear plastic baggie containing 19 green pills, identified as Klonopin. The patrol also found one glass smoking pipe in the center console. Schlitz was taken to the Niagara County Jail where he was held in lieu of $500. Schlitz had two passengers in his vehicle who were driven home.
