Town of Tonawanda
DRUGS: Henry C. Brent was charged at 12:13 p.m. Sunday with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and driving while talking on a cell phone. Brent was stopped for using his phone and found to have a suspended license, according to reports. A search of the vehicle turned up 12 white pills, which Brent allegedly admitted were hydrocodone. He is being held in lieu of $100 bail.
DWI: Larry Ofield, Jr., 114 Vandervoort St., North Tonawanda, was charged at 4:28 a.m. Sunday with DWI and driving with no head lights. Ofield was stopped for driving with no head lights when the officer detected the odor of alcohol, according to reports. Ofield allegedly failed field sobriety tests and a chemical breath test revealed a 0.13 percent blood alcohol content. Ofield was held for court.
DRUGS: Joshua B. Hudson was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal mischief at 3:10 a.m. Sunday. Hudson allegedly took a plastic beer pitcher out of a bar and used it to break a car window. A search turned up a cut straw with cocaine inside. He was held for court.
ASSAULT: Michael J. Fanara was charged with third-degree assault and Angelo M., Christopher Jr. was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon at 9 p.m. Saturday. Christopher allegedly threw a bowling ball at a man outside a bowling hall. Witnesses said both Christopher and Fanara then proceeded to kick and punch the victim before fleeing the scene. Both were held for court.
DWI: Coleen M. McKenna was charged at 4:38 a.m. Saturday with DWI, resisting arrest, criminal tampering, unlawful possession of marijuana and moving from a lane unsafely. McKenna was stopped for weaving when the officer detected the odor of alcohol, according to reports. McKenna allegedly failed field sobriety tests and refused a chemical breath test, then resisted being handcuffed. Once inside the police cruiser, McKenna slipped her hand out of the handcuffs. Officers took her out of the car and had to take her to the ground to handcuff her again with smaller cuffs. During McKenna’s booking and incarceration, officer said she was verbally abusive. McKenna was held for court.
