BLOTTER: Police reports published Feb. 4, 2010

City of Tonawanda

LARCENY: Roy C. Sampman, 23, 249 Breckenridge St., Buffalo, was arrested Tuesday for petit larceny, second-degree harassment, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. He was held for court.

WARRANT: Alex J. Peters, 21, 142 Young St., was arrested on a warrant Wednesday for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. He is being held in lieu of $150 bail.

North Tonawanda

DRUGS: Thomas R. Shelby, 19, 521 Old Falls Blvd., was arrested Wednesday for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, DWAI drugs, driving left of pavement markings and having an inadequate muffler. He is being held in lieu of $500 bail.

Town of Tonawanda

ALCOHOL: Matthew J. Fortier was charged at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday with an open container violation. Fortier was charged after being spotted in front of a business with an open 40 ounce malt liquor, according to reports. Fortier also had an active burglary warrant out of Florida, but authorities out of state refused to extradite him. He was released on an appearance ticket.

ENDANGERMENT: James R. Wylie, 49, 608 Loretta St., was charged at 5:55 a.m. Tuesday with two counts of reckless endangerment, reckless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign. Officers were at Wylie’s house to investigate an assault during which Wylie had been the victim, but found that he had left home, according to reports. When Wylie returned, he allegedly ran a stop sign and nearly struck two police officers while pulling into his driveway. He is being held in lieu of $400 bail.

DWI: Rebecca L. Klauk was charged at 2:27 a.m. Tuesday with DWI and an equipment violation. Klauk was stopped for driving without headlights when the officer detected the odor of alcohol, according to reports. Klauk allegedly failed field sobriety tests and a chemical breath test revealed a 0.17 percent blood alcohol content. Klauk was held for court.

City of Lockport

ACCIDENT: An accident report from Lockport Police revealed Wednesday morning that Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza was involved in a two-vehicle accident at 1:22 p.m. Monday near 170 East Ave. According to the report, Sperrazza was turning north onto McCollum Street when Kim D. Lavery attempted to pass Sperrazza on the left and sideswiped the judge’s vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.
