I hope this spring the Town of Tonawanda fixes Nash Road.

I see in the newspaper that Mayor Ortt is deciding to freeze and not do any reassessments for three years to save the taxpayers of NT money. What a joke. They don’t want our taxes to go down, they don’t want our assessments to go down. This is a ploy that American politicians of NT are doing to keep our taxes high.

It is not surprising that there are bullies in the Tonawanda public schools. Look at the parents and how they conduct their affairs when they become angry at other people. Do they sit down reasonably and discuss things? No. They threaten, they yell and sometimes they use physical violence. The children see this and think that it is a model for their own department. Don’t be surprised at bullies. Look in the mirror and see where they learned this behavior.

I’d like to thank a person who lives on Orchard Place for continuously going down the street and cleaning off the fire hydrants. He is the only one who does it.

I live in the area of Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ruie Road. I would like to say kudos to two gentlemen who are absolutely wonderful in our neighborhood. The one gentlemen rides his ATV with a plow on the front and keeps our street’s sidewalks very clear. The other gentlemen took the time to help me plow out my driveway up to my car. They are doing a wonderful thing, and people like me really appreciate what they do.

I am so glad Gov. Paterson is stepping down from running. Hope we get someone in there who is going to do a lot better than he did.

I believe that we have heard enough about Walmart from Mr. Budwey. I hope the city and lawyers understand that. People want the building to go up and we're really tired about the silliness.

If you can afford a $100,000 house, you can hire someone to shovel your walkway if you won’t do it yourself.

I see advertisements on television from the N.Y. State Department of Health advising us not to spread the swine flu virus. This is the most overrated disease in the history of mankind. Our tax dollars are being wasted on this advertising.

Can someone please explain why the City of Tonawanda is paying city plow workers to come down the street scraping the bare road? This is a waste of our money.

My son had a problem with bullying at the Tonawanda Middle School Last year. I told my son that bullies are only good in a group. So what did he do? He waited until the last day of school and beat up one of the bullies. No problems this year. Hey, the school wouldn’t handle it.

Bin Laden is dead. GM is alive. Those don’t sound like failures to me.

If you keep taking signals down on Nash Road, it will become a regular speedway. Don’t forget: It’s still a city street, with side streets driveways and businesses.

I think the North Tonawanda school district should look into requiring school uniforms. I think if the school board members walked around the high school and saw how some of these students dress they’d be appalled, to say the least. No school dress code is being enforced. They should consider the pros and cons of bringing back school uniforms.

I’m very grateful I can’t watch the Butterknives on TV anymore. I mean the Sabres, heh-heh.

Bob Confer, looks like you did get a little help, regarding your unexpected sights in Niagara. Personally I don’t feel imperiled by bobcats, bears and other wild animals. But I am afraid of you and opinions.

There is no way the United States can afford a care package like Obamacare. This man has been a failure in everything he has done.

NT taxpayers beware: The district is facing a $1.5 million shortfall this year. Yet the district continues to have tech and music teachers with only 4 students per class while the academic classes continue to have 30 to 32 students per class. Where are the district’s priorities? Why are we teaching private vocal lessons to only a few?

Given all the “findings” reported at the Niagara County SPCA, it’s hard to understand why a third party has not been appointed to audit and review the status of the Erie County SPCA. According to several reports, both agencies work closely together on a regular basis. I think it is time the Erie County SPCA's practices and procedures be investigated as well. Based on encounters family members and I have had with the Erie County SPCA, I certainly hope they treat their animals better than they treat the people who come through their doors.

Boy, that's too bad about what happened to Vito's sign. I hope they throw the book at that guy! Just like that other restaurant in Budwey Plaza. The scene they made in front of everyone. They did nothing but embarrass themselves. If you don't know how to run your business properly, don't go blaming everyone else!
