Tonawanda News — Everyone seems thrilled about Obama wanting to give 11 million illegal aliens citizenship. What part of illegal don’t people understand? What about all the ones who are waiting to become citizens that are going the proper route? Now Obama says that if they have same sex partners in another country they also will go ahead. Almost all of our ancestors came over on the boat but they went through proper channels, learned to speak English and didn’t ask for welfare. How can we afford 11 million more when we can’t afford to take care of our own and exactly where are the jobs coming from when we already have high unemployment? Eleven million more for taxpayers to foot the bill.

I want to thank the nice man who returned my daughters wallet to my house. He said he found it in Cheektowaga and we live in Tonawanda. It had been missing for over a month. In this day and age it’s not very often that we meet people who are so thoughtful and kind. Thanks again for your kindness.

To the person that says guns should be taken away from everyone and that guns only kill people. I guess with that nonsense logic we may as well ban cars too because they kill people everyday, not the person behind the wheel drinking and driving. People are the common denominator here not the tool used. While these shootings are tragic in the worst sense, nobody publishes all the statistics that show law abiding citizens that are justified in using a weapon to save lives everyday. With that, we may as well ban airplanes too, as they kill people. Really.

How about all of you gun owners take your assault rifles and armor-piercing bullets and secede to form a new nation? We’d be better off without your ignorance and stupidity to misconstrue facts to suit what you want to be true.

To the guy who feels the need to own an assault weapon because he does not trust the president and thinks the government might overthrow the citizens, you and people like you are the reason for these new guns laws. You are a disturbed individual and need professional help.

Just want to let you know that there is something new in North Tonawanda that has made me very happy: the new green arrow lights at the intersection of Erie Avenue and Division. That has always been a difficult intersection to make a turn. Now it’s a breeze. Thank you North Tonawanda, wish you had thought of this years ago. But its great to have it now!
