Tonawanda News — On Oct. 1, the THS girls soccer teams, JV and varsity, held a brief ceremony between the two games honoring women/men who have and/or had breast cancer. Fourteen women were recognized. It was a very touching event and a thank you to the organizers for planning the ceremony and the young ladies on both teams, for making it such a special evening. And as a side note, our THS girls, JV and varsity, both won their games! These young women are amazing! Go Warriors!

So you want to vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. Do you know what will happen? Romney and Ryan refuse to give specifics on what they will cut in their budget. The only thing they have told us is that they will give even bigger tax cuts to the wealthiest people In the country. If that happens it will add $5 trillion, yes trillion, to the debt. They say they will be paid for by eliminating tax deductions. They won’t tell you what deductions will be. Why won’t they tell us? Simple, they want to cut deductions that middle class families receive, home mortgage deduction, child care credit, earned income credit and more. If you believe that the wealthy should get a huge tax cut that is paid for by the middle class and the poor, you should vote for Romney. If you think that the middle class and the poor shouldn’t pay for tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires, vote for President Obama.

Just so people know, if Medicaid is cut like Romney wants to it will affect nursing home care as well as home care for seniors. People think that Medicaid only goes to people who are poor, not true. Seniors depend on that coverage more than anyone. If the Medicaid program is gutted I hope the families of seniors realize that nursing home costs will be their responsibility.

I don’t understand all this fuss about Chris Collins making products in China. Isn’t the guy in business to make money? If he can make more profit I say more power to him. People in business to make as much money as they can.

I just saw on the Colbert Report that they’re still making fun of Romney because he said that 47 percent of the poor expect food. It isn’t just food. It’s free housing it’s a free education. It’s free food stamps, it’s subsidized this and subsidized that. It isn’t just food. Nobody has any qualms about feeding anybody. It’s that they stay on it for years and years and years.

Why isn’t the street address of City of Tonawanda people arrested in the paper? North Tonawanda gives complete addresses, not just the street. Let’s protect the innocent not the guilty. Thank you.

Here are the six Cs that are the ruin of our country: cell phones, computers, casinos, credit cards, corruption and last but not least Congress.
