I can not believe that our three legislators voted to appointed Andrea McNulty to a county position that pays $35,000 plus $15,000 in benefits. Our legislators are creating new positions for people who are politically connected. She deceived the taxpayers of North Tonawanda by claiming to be a NT resident. She was forced to resign from her previous position but was rewarded with a $50,000-a-year position at the county that was not even advertised as an open position. I will never again vote for a Republican.

When are the anti- Walmart people going to give up? We need someplace to shop in NT. All these silly lawsuits are getting ridiculous. And the sad part of all of this is that it's a "do as I say and not as I do" situation. I do not remember any of the pizzerias or restaurants filing suit against a certain grocery store for opening up a cafe in their store. It undersells every restaurant in the Twin Cities. What is with this double standard? He allows a dollar store to open next to his store that undersells him on milk, bread and all kinds of grocery items, he has an Aldi right down the road from his store and they also undersell him. Don't remember any lawsuits trying to stop them from opening.

I am offended by the caption under the fish fry on the first page of Feb. 20 paper. You make it seem like only Catholics observe the Holy Season. That is differently not true.

Mr. Budwey, Mr. Seeger, and Ms. Kern; it’s time to step aside and allow progress to take place in North Tonawanda. You’re concerned about lost revenue from the Bluebird Drive sale but yet, you are costing us thousands of dollars in lost revenue from Walmart taxes, and lawsuits that you continue losing. Taxpayers are unaware that they are footing the bill for these lost lawsuits. If you care anything about our community, then let it be. The only one that is making out like a bandit is Mr. Seeger. He’s laughing all the way to the bank with our money.

Bin Laden is dead. GM is alive. Those don’t sound like failures to me.

If you keep taking signals down on Nash Road, it will become a regular speedway. Don’t forget: It’s still a city street, with side streets driveways and businesses.

I think the North Tonawanda school district should look into requiring school uniforms. I think if the school board members walked around the high school and saw how some of these students dress they’d be appalled, to say the least. No school dress code is being enforced. They should consider the pros and cons of bringing back school uniforms.

I’m very grateful I can’t watch the Butterknives on TV anymore. I mean the Sabres, heh-heh.

Bob Confer, looks like you did get a little help, regarding your unexpected sights in Niagara. Personally I don’t feel imperiled by bobcats, bears and other wild animals. But I am afraid of you and opinions.

There is no way the United States can afford a care package like Obamacare. This man has been a failure in everything he has done.

NT taxpayers beware: The district is facing a $1.5 million shortfall this year. Yet the district continues to have tech and music teachers with only 4 students per class while the academic classes continue to have 30 to 32 students per class. Where are the district’s priorities? Why are we teaching private vocal lessons to only a few?

Given all the “findings” reported at the Niagara County SPCA, it’s hard to understand why a third party has not been appointed to audit and review the status of the Erie County SPCA. According to several reports, both agencies work closely together on a regular basis. I think it is time the Erie County SPCA's practices and procedures be investigated as well. Based on encounters family members and I have had with the Erie County SPCA, I certainly hope they treat their animals better than they treat the people who come through their doors.

Boy, that's too bad about what happened to Vito's sign. I hope they throw the book at that guy! Just like that other restaurant in Budwey Plaza. The scene they made in front of everyone. They did nothing but embarrass themselves. If you don't know how to run your business properly, don't go blaming everyone else!
