North Tonawanda — This is in response to the person who says there was a Jeffrey’s in the City of Tonawanda. The word is Zeffrey’s. It was an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. It was beautiful.

I was in McDonald’s on Meadow Drive on Feb. 28. While I was buying food, my 9-year-old grandson went to the bathroom and left his newly bought Sabres gloves in there. A man came into McDonald’s to use the wash room, not to buy anything, and walked out with the gloves. My grandson bought the gloves not even two hours earlier with his birthday money. People are just awful and it ruins my day.

- Sound Off published May 25 It's not up to the editor of a newspaper to get a birthday card from President Obama. My mother just turned 86 and she got a card from him. All you have to do is write to the greeting room, C/O White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW Washington, D.C. 20500. As long as the person is 80 or above, they will receive a card.
