Tonawanda News — Please tell me why all private companies are expected to do more with less every year. Even the federal government is getting on board, but how is it that there is no change with the NT public unions? There is still crazy OT and it’s sad to think that some police and fire officers make two times what the mayor makes. Something doesn’t seem right here.

Will people please start taking down their Christmas lights? It’s been two weeks since Christmas. In these hard economic times, the electricity being wasted due to the laziness of these residents is ridiculous. Before we know it, it’s going to be summer.

I was walking my dog around the block in Wurlitzer Park, and slipped on some ice. I found myself on my back, and didn’t have the energy to get myself up. It was the second time in the same night. Not everyone had shoveled their sidewalks, again. What’s with that? There was a youngster, 21-year-old Brian, that helped me up, and walked me and my little doggie home. I’m so grateful that a young lad would be so compassionate. Thank you Brian!

After attending the first of what I hope will be many New Years Eve Galas at the Tonawanda Castle, I wish to congratulate the owner of the castle, for the wonderful restoration of the old Armory on Delaware Ave. Those of us who attended had a very enjoyable New Years Eve.

We had many, many wonderful, entertaining and educational shows for babies and young children, hoping to influence their little minds. How can we then turn around and say violent video games do not at all influence young teenagers’ minds?

•••

Let me know if I’ve got this right. Mayor Pilozzi wants to privatize the garbage collection, and yet he’s going to keep all the city workers and not lay anyone off?

•••

Well you gotta love Sound Off. There’s 50 — five zero — lines of text written by someone about guns who says several times they know nothing about guns.

•••

NT should plow their streets.

The political cartoon that appeared in the Tonawanda News on Christmas Day was offensive, inappropriate and just downright disgusting. Your paper is so slanted. Eric DuVall’s column that appeared on the 25th of December is the most immature, ridiculous column I think I’ve ever seen him write. Quit blaming the Republican party for everything that happens in this country. The Democrats are just as responsible, Eric.

I’m in agreement with the caller who sad no tax dollars or any money should be spent to extend Meadow Drive. There is no reason to extend it.
