Tonawanda News — Maybe someone that reads the paper can explain to me why when there is limited and timed parking on Main Street in Tonawanda, clearly marked by signs, is a vehicle with Obama bumper stickers allowed to park there every weekday and all day. Can someone please tell me the reason that is allowed to happen?

They just had it on the news that we had a high level of unemployment in the state of New York for December. Yeah, that’s because they were hiring help for the holidays. That’s why our employment went up. Now if you take it, it’s probably down. So they ain’t fooling anybody.

I read that Walmart is going to be offering jobs to our veterans. What a joke. What veteran can live on and support a family, minimum wage job, part-time job with no benefits? Unfortunately no president will bring home all of our troops when our country has no jobs to offer them. Our veterans are struggling to get mental health and physical ailments taken care of. Just because Walmart says there’s gonna be jobs it ain’t gonna happen.

Yes, I see our illustrious mayor is giving his State of the City address at a local tavern. My question, I guess, is everyone that attends said event, will they be exempt from any DWIs should they be stopped after leaving?

To the teacher that wants the names of the parents listed in the paper that don’t check the kid’s homework. You teachers give the kids so much homework because you don’t feel like teaching them in school because you have so much time off during the day. It’s your job to teach the kids, not the parents. Parents have their own jobs. You’re getting paid, and paid very much more than you deserve. Afraid you won’t pass your evaluations? We all get evaluated at our jobs, so why shouldn’t you?

The local police around the country should get rid of these gun nuts that are protesting. Use their tear gas and get them off the streets. They’re the problem. They’re the reason people are getting shot and killed. They got guns in their houses and the criminals steal them. The time has come to take everybody’s guns away because nobody needs guns. Guns only kill people. Governor Cuomo did a really good job getting guns off the streets.

Barbara Tucker thank you very much for Saturday January 19th exchange club meeting, the topic one nation under God. That was fantastic from that father of the girl that was killed in Columbine. Thank you very much.

As far as the Tonawandas holding the Pizza Fest at Classics, I think it’s a great place. There is plenty of room. And many of the organizations from Amherst and the Town of Tonawanda belong to the Tonawanda chamber of commerce. It makes sense to me. See you at the Pizza Fest.
