Tonawanda News — I want to congratulate the Town of Amherst. When people have a run for a charity, up until now, the police have offered their assistance for free. But now the police want a piece of the action. Let’s take money from charity, the councilmen say. Let’s take money from people with cancer or kids that are dying. Let’s make money off of them. Congratulations to the Town of Amherst.

So now Mayor Pilozzi wants to close off Young Street. Why? Because somebody opened a pulled pork restaurant or something, without any parking. Now don’t you think instead of having everybody accept the fact that Young Street is being closed, that person should have thought before he opened up his restaurant? Maybe it would be much nicer if he moved. I think there should be rules that if you’re going to open a restaurant you need to have parking for your customers. I think this is insane. But we all know whatever the mayor wants he gets.

Our government tries to regulate what our kids eat, what we eat, what we drink, what people smoke, how much sugar is in our diet and everything else. It doesn’t work. If your parents are obese your kids are going to be obese. The only way to change it is to change the way the country is run. People cannot afford to eat healthy, it’s too expensive. Middle income and lower incomes can’t afford it.
