Tonawanda News — Yes here it is on the night of July 4, at 12:08 a.m. and there’s three open fires going in the City of Tonawanda. I think the City of Tonawanda fire department should ban all open burning even if they have a grill or whatever they’re doing, a fire pit or whatever because the sparks are flying everywhere and we’ve had no rain in a long time. I woke up and looked out and theres people having fun and the sparks are flying everywhere. Don’t they consider what could happen?

The New York state prohibition on fireworks. If you take Pennsylvania and you take New York and you look at both of them, how do they compare in death and losing fingers and children getting hurt? Does Pennsylvania have a million people getting hurt? Because they’re the ones that sell fireworks. Or is this prohibition just screwing life up in New York?

I’m calling regarding the reappearance of the “Do You Remember” column in the Tonawanda News. What a pleasant surprise. It is fantastic to see this back again. Thank you to the editors of the Tonawanda News.

I think the City of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda should start doing away with having firework displays. They’re nothing but noise, they disturb everybody in the city. I go to sleep early. I go to bed by 8 p.m. because I have to be up at 3 a.m. to go to work. I feel they should get rid of the fireworks. They do nothing but make noise and we don’t need noise in the City of Tonawanda and North Tonawanda. We already have those bars on Webster Street that play music that you can hear five miles away.
